Local heart Kindness Recognition Award

Kindness Recognition Award 2026

We believe that kindness deserves to be celebrated.

When people continually go out of their way to support others with empathy, generosity, and compassion, it’s important that they know their efforts are valued. A simple expression of appreciation can make a meaningful difference and encourage the spirit of kindness within our community

This year, we simply couldn’t choose just one person.

The exceptional kindness, empathy, generosity, and support shown by these individuals made the decision incredibly difficult. Their positive impact on others deserves to be recognised and celebrated.

Each of these three remarkable women, whether through their words of encouragement, unwavering support, or willingness to help others, they have made a meaningful difference in the lives of those around them. Their kindness never goes unnoticed, and our community is stronger because of them.

We are happy to announce this year’s winners were:

Tahlia Davey – Client Care Manager – Nimbin Neighbourhood Centre

Alison Southey – Support Worker – Nimbin Neighbourhood Centre

Julie Peck – Clinical Lead Officer – Alcohol & Drug Outreach Hubb – Buttery
